Catskills & Adirondacks, New York

Best Times: mid-December - mid-March

With the Catskills less than 2 hours north of NYC, and the Adirondacks a couple more,  it's hard to find an excuse NOT to go ice climbing this winter. Both areas host dozens of frozen waterfalls just waiting for you to swing an ice tool into. Alpine Logic supplies all the technical equipment you'll need for the day. All you need are warm clothes, a thermos of tea or cocoa, and the right attitude!

White Mountains

Best Times: mid-December - mid-March

A lifetime of world-class ice and mixed climbing is easily accessible from North Conway, NH. Excellent novice-level routes as well as moderate classics, and true hardman test pieces. This place has it all!

Red Rocks, Nevada

Best Times: March - April, September - October

Minutes outside of Las Vegas, Red Rocks is one of the biggest, most varied climbing areas in the Lower 48.  With long moderate climbs, short sport routes, big walls, and some desert "alpine" routes, Red Rocks has the high-quality sandstone climbing you've been looking for.  No matter your experience or ability, there is something for everyone.  With excellent temps in the spring and fall, it's a great way to get a jump on the rock season or lengthen it out some in the fall.  And flights are cheap!

Katahdin, Maine

Best Times: December - March

The biggest alpine terrain East of the Rockies.  Awe inspiring.

What makes a 16 mile approach on skis worth it? The sheer magnitude and variety of amazing alpine terrain surrounding Katahdin. Whether you are looking to do some winter peak-bagging, climb Grade V ice, ski some sweet lines, or go for the baddest alpine routes on the Eastcoast - Katahdin is the place you want to be. This trip requires a minimum of 5 days car-to-car, and we recommend 6 or 7 if at all possible.

Acadia National Park, Maine

Best Times: June-September

Where the ocean meets the mountains! From sea cliff climbing to multi-pitch routes on pink granite, the rock climbing in Acadia NP is of exceptional quality.  Virtually every climb has an ocean view, with a multitude of both beginner routes and harder test-pieces.  Acadia offers the "whole package" for visitors, with amazing carriage road biking, sea kayaking, hiking, sailing, camping, interpretive nature programs, great food and an endless number of places to stay.

Plan a family vacation now!

Chamonix, France

Best Times: July - August

Talk about mountain heritage - this is where alpinism started! Stand on top of Mont Blanc or sample some of the uber-classic rock, ice, and mixed lines surrounding the Mont Blanc massif. Whether you want moderate glacier tours or technical test pieces, Chamonix has it all. A tram car ride and a glacier crossing to access splitter granite? Ok!

Looking to tackle the Matterhorn or Eiger? Yeah, we do that too. Shoot Silas an email and get your adventure started.
